The CRU has published a Response to Consultation and Proposed Decision on the Review of the Supplier of Last Resort Framework. The CRU previously consulted on the Review of the Supplier of Last Resort Framework in CRU202562.
The purpose of this response to consultation and proposed decision paper is to consider submissions received from industry considering improvements to the entire SoLR framework. The CRU’s primary objective is to protect the interests of existing and future customers and that, in the event a supplier exiting the market, customers continue to receive a supply of electricity.
There were a number of questions put forward in CRU202562 that focused on the SoLR process, the SoLR designations, new measures to avoid a SoLR event/supplier failure and SoLR Cost Recovery.
The CRU has considered the responses received and now has proposed decisions in relation to these questions.
